Fleuranne Brockway, from Australia, is back at Oper Frankfurt, where she made her debut in 2022 singing Ciesca in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, to sing the role of Sonyetka at short notice in Shostakovitch's Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk. She's a member of the ensemble at Hessen's State Theatre in Wiesbaden, where roles in recent seasons have included Charlotte (Werther), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), 2nd Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), 3rd Maid (Elektra), Annina (Der Rosenkavalier), Sonjetka (Lady Macbeth of Mzensk), the title role in Carmen and Amando in Le Grand Macabre, the first new production of the season. Plans include the lead role (role debut) in a new production of Offenbach's Fantasio and Meg Page in Verdi's Falstaff. She made her debut at the Bregenz Festival in 2023, singing Suzuki, reached the finals of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and made her debut at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in 2022, singing Carlotta in Salieri's La scuola de‘ gelosi. This prize winning (including the Concorso Lirico Internazionale di Portofino, the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition and Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Bel Canto Award) young mezzo-soprano received scholarships from, amongst others, the German Australian Opera Grant and the Bendat Scholarship. She studied with Megan Sutton at the University of Western Australia and was a member of the Royal College of Music in London's International Opera Studio from 2019 - 2020. While a Westfarmer Artist at West Australian Opera in Perth, roles included Mercédès (Carmen).
