Stephanie Gierden was born and grew up in Hessen and started being taught the violin by her parents when she was six years old. She loves chamber music and making music with Hessen's Youth Orchestra, which she led for many years. She went on to study with Gesine Kalbhenn-Rzepka, then Prof. Susanne Stoodt in Frankfurt and Prof. Nora Chastain in Zürich. Chamber music and masterclasses held by people including Antje Weithaas, Julian Rachlin, Rainer Kussmaul and the Mandelring Quartet inspired her further. Many concerts with her former piano trio, including appearances at the Weilburg Schloss (castle) Concerts, round off her diverse artistic activities. Stephanie Gierden joined the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester in 2011, after time spent as a regular guest with the hr (Hessen Radio)-Sinfonieorchester.
