Recital

A treat for Advent - three singers who enjoy close ties with the company have come up with a contemplative evening of operatic arias and Christmassy music. The young countertenor Iurii Iushkevich made his debut in Frankfurt last spring, as Nireno in Giulio Cesare in Egitto, and can be heard again this season as Unulfo in Rodelinda and Arsace in a new production of Partenope. Recent engagements have taken him to the Vienna State Opera, Carnegie Hall in New York and the Philharmonie in Berlin. He also sang Lel in a new Rimsky-Korsakov Snowflake at the 2023 Winter Tirol Festival in Erl – alongside Clara Kim and Nombulelo Yende, in the title role and as Kupawa. South Korean born Clara Kim was a member of the Opera Studio (2022-24), thrilling audiences with roles including Pamina and the Queen of the Night in Zauberflöte. She's back this season for a Flower Maiden and Oberto in new productions of Wagner's Parsifal and Handel’s Alcina. Nombulelo Yende, who left the Opera Studio to join the Ensemble, recently enjoyed great success here with her first Tatianas in Eugene Onegin. Exciting plans for this young South African this season include the title role in Tchaikovsky's The Sorceress and Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. A special evening, with three wonderful young artists and friends!
