Susanne Uhl returned to Oper Frankfurt for the seventh time, where she designed costumes for Handel's Teseo (2013), Radamisto (2016), Xerxes (2017), Rossini's Bianca et Falliero (also seen at the 2022 Winter Festival in Erl) and Frank Martin's Le vin Herbé, last season for this production of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and an unforgettable staging of Zemlinsky's Traumgörge / George the Dreamer. Other productions she has worked on with Tilmann Köhler include The Merchant of Venice and Odyssee (Staats Schauspiel Dresden), King Arthur (Semperoper Dresden), Mario and the Magician (Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart), Macbeth (Deutsche Theater Berlin), The Maid of Orleans (Deutsche Schauspielhaus Hamburg) and The Black Spider (Theater Basel). She has worked with the directors Christina Friedrich on many plays in places including Göttingen, Lucerne and Zürich, and Peter Kleinert on, amongst others: The Mother, Danton's Death and The Good Man from Sezuan at the Schaubühne in Berlin. She studied set and costume design at the University of Fine Arts in Dresden and taught at the »Ernst Busch« University for Drama in Berlin from 2003 - 2006. She recently designed costumes for What now - Little man? at the Schauspielhaus in Düsseldorf, the world premiere of Von schlechten Eltern / From bad parents,, based on Tom Kummer's novel, for Bern Bühnen and Life's a Dream at the Staatsschauspiel in Dresden.
