The Argentinian tenor Francisco Brito is back in Frankfurt, where he recently sang Giannetto in Rossini's La gazza ladra, Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Jago in Rossini's 5 tenor Otello and stepped in at short notice to sing Léopold in Ja Juive, for this recital in the Holzfoyer. He studied in Argentina before going to Italy to join the Accademia d’Arte Lirica di Osimo and the Scuola dell’Opera Italiana di Bologna, where he specialised in Rossini. He made his operatic debut in 2006, as Libenskof in Il viaggio a Reims at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro. This was followed by appearances at the Teatro Comunale Mario del Monaco di Treviso (Lindoro in L’Italiana in Algeri), Opera Lombardia (La scala di seta) and the Teatro Argentino de La Plata in Buenos Aires. He sang various roles for the company while he was a member of Oper Frankfurt's Opera Studio from 2011 - 2013. Recent engagements have included his debut at the Semper Oper in Dresden in Anna Bolena in 2011, Lindoro (L'Italiana in Algeri) at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Comunale in Modena and the Teatro Escorial in Madrid, Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola) at the Semper Oper in Dresden, in Palermo and Theater Bonn, Belfiore (Il viaggio a Reims) in Muscat, at Zurich Opera and the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, Almaviva (Il Barbiere die Siviglia) in Wiesbaden, Erl, Venice and Palma de Mallorca, Le Comte Ory at the Opéra de Toulon Théâtre Municipal and in Zurich, Umberto / Giacomo (La donna del lago) in Sofia, Idreno (Semiramide) in Lausanne and Armand Brissard in Franz Lehár's Der Graf von Luxemburg at the Tirol Festival in Erl. Earlier this season he sang Don Narciso in Rossini's Il turco in Italia at the Teatro Colón, the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo in Como, Lausanne Opera and the Teatro Comunale Alighieri di Ravenna. Other engagements have included Don Pasquale in Darmstadt, Trento und Moscow, I puritani in Stuttgart, Così fan tutte in Dubai, La Juive in Konstanz and Sydney, Il Castello di Kenilworth and Pietro il Grande at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo.
