Francesco Demuro is back in Frankfurt, where roles have included Rodolfo, Alfredo Germont (La traviata), the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto) and Lord Arturo Talbo (I puritani), to sing the title role in this production Adolphe Adams’ Le postillon de Lonjumeau which he enjoyed great success with when it first opened at the Tirol Festival in Erl. This Sardinian tenor sings at opera houses including the Met in New York, the Teatro la Fenice in Venice, Teatro Real in Madrid, Covent Garden in London, the Opéra Bastille in Paris, the Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Vienna state operas, the Semperoper in Dresden, La Scala Milan, San Francisco Opera, Seattle Opera and in Suntory Hall in Tokyo, in Warsaw and Peking. Recent engagements have included Alfredo Germont (La traviata) at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and Rossini’s Stabat Mater with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Forthcoming plans include Donizetti’s Maria Pallida (Don Ruiz di Pallida) at Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, A Singer (Der Rosenkavalier) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris and Elvino (La sonnambula) at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo. His wide and varied repertoire includes Jason (Medea), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Fenton (Falstaff), Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Roméo (Roméo et Juliette), Macduff (Macbeth), Leicester (Maria Stuarda), Faust, Nadir (Les pêcheurs de perles), Foresto (Attila) and Cassio (Otello).
