Zuzana Petrasová was born and grew up in Prague. She studied the piano before discovering a passion for singing. She studied at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with Prof Kateřina Beranová and a term abroad in Italy in Prof Umberto Chiummo's class. She joined the Opera Studio at the Landestheater in Linz after gaining her bachelors. Whilst still a student she took part in many university productions singing, amonst others, 3rd Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Ramiro in La finta giardiniera and Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel. She sang the title role in Handel's Oreste, a 2022 co-production with the Musiktheater in Linz, where she has performed many times in works including the world premiere of Febel's Benjamin Button, and roles in Toch's The Princess and the Pea, Benatzky's Zur gold’nen Liebe and Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Other engagements have included Korngold's Die stumme Serenade in Helfenberg's Kulturfabrik and a concert with Collegium 1704 at the Dvořákova Praha Festival in the Rudolfinum in Prague. A real highlight was a Great Voices Gala Concert, where she sang in excerpts from Madame Butterfly and Eugene Onegin alongside Asmik Grigorian. During the 2024/25 season she makes her debut as Pallas in Kusser's Adonis at Theater Heidelberg as part of the Winter Baroque Festival in Schwetzingen
