Robin Adams
Robin Adams, one of the leading interpreters of contemporary music, is jumping in to save the day by singing the title role in the last performance this season of Henze's The Prince of Homburg, a role he sang at the Staatsoper in Stuttgart and was nominated for »Best Singer« of the year 2021 by Opernwelt and an Opus Klassik prize. He has appeared at many leading opera houses, concert halls and international festivals around the world, including Oper Frankfurt, the opera houses in Leipzig, Cologne, Zürich and Basel, Vlaamse Opera, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Théâtre Royal La Monnaie in Brussels, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Royal Opera House in London, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, the Vienna Festwochen, Holland Festival, Edinburgh Festival and the Prototype Festival New York. Recent engagements have included the title role in Saint François d’Assise at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Nekrotzar in Le Grand Macabre at the Festival d’Automne Paris and Enescu Festival in Bucharest, the world premiere of Wolf Haas’ Liebesgesang and Mandryka (Arabella) at Bühnen Bern. Later this season you can hear him in the title role in Berg's Wozzeck in Antwerp (Opera Ballet Vlaanderen). His repertoire includes contemporary music and leading roles including Mozart's Don Giovanni, Verdi's Macbeth, Alberich (Das Rheingold), Tchaikovsky's Eugen Onegin, Marcello (La Bohème) and Britten's Billy Budd. He's also plays wonderful jazz on the piano.
