Silvia Beltrami is making her debut at Oper Frankfurt, singing Amneris in the first revival of last season's new Aida. This mezzo-soprano specialises in Verdi roles including Azucena in Il trovatore, Amneris, Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera, Eboli in Don Carlo, enjoying great success at leading theatres in Italy and around the world. Recent highlights have included Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) at the Teatro Real de Madrid and Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica) with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano and Verdi's Messa da Requiem a the Teatro Regio di Torino with Andrea Battistoni. She's also wonderful in roles like Mistress Quickly in Falstaff and Zita in Gianni Schicchi and works including L’italiana in Algeri (Isabella), Maria Stuarda (Elisabetta), Il viaggio a Reims (Marchesa Melibea), Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira) and La gazza ladra (Pippo). Silvia Beltrami enjoyed triumphs in Un ballo in maschera at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Teatro Real in Madrid, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Bolshoi and the Teatro Regio di Parma, in Aida and Il trovatore at the Opera di Roma and in Venice, in Verdi's Messa da Requiem with the Seattle Symphony under Giacomo Sagripanti, Puccini's Edgar in Berlin's Konzerthaus and in Cavalleria rusticana (Santuzza) at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.
