Angela Rutigliano studied at the Conservatorio Niccolò Piccinni in Bari and Accademia Santa Cecilia in Bergamo. She won many competitions in Italy, where she was born, including those run by the Festival Nazionale Giovanni Promesse in Taranto and the Artepremio Internazionale Giovani Musicisti in Bari. She also graduated in chemical engineering at Pisa University, before working in California and Italy on various research projects. She furthered her studies in coaching opera singers at the University for Music & the Performing Arts in Stuttgart. Her talent as a tango pianist has taken her on tours of Europe, the USA, Argentina and Japan. She was invited to coach at theatres including the state theatres in Stuttgart and Heidelberg and worked at the Apollo Theater in Stuttgart on musicals. During the 2022/23 season she worked as a pianist and coach, with conducting duties for ballets at the Landestheater in Coburg. She joined Oper Frankfurt in 2023/24 to coach soloists and members of the Opera Studio and regularly plays the piano for recitals and in chamber music concerts.
