Gabriel Wanka

Gabriel Wanka is in Frankfurt to re-choreograph, and appear in, this production of Adolphe Adams’ Le postillon de Lonjumeau, which first opened at the Tirol Festival in Erl where he also worked on Hans Walter Richter’s new production of Francesca da Rimini, which also then came to Frankfurt. He trained at the Vienna State Opera ballet school and took part in many productions at the State Opera and Volksoper in Vienna – including Die Puppenfee / The Fairy Puppet, Spartakus, Coppelia or The Nutcracker — working with internationally renowned choreographers including Hans Van Manen, Robert North and Renato Zanella. This Munich born artist then spent six years at the Landestheater in Linz as a member of the ensemble, guest soloist and choreographer. He has been working as a freelance dancer, actor and choreographer at home and abroad for, amongst others, the Posterino Dance Company under Gaetano Posterino’s direction and tours throughout Europe. He has been a professor at the city of Vienna’s MUK private university since 2018 and a choreographer for classic operetta university studies, under Wolfgang Dosch’s direction.
