Lin Ye
violin
Lin Ye moved from Shanghai to Germany to continue his studies with Prof. Kurt Guntner at the University for Music in Munich, where he graduated. He then went under contract to the Staatsoper in Munich for a year, getting to know c. 40 operas in just one season. This is how he discovered his love for opera, and wanted more. He joined the second violins at the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester in 1988. He is also an avid chamber musician, appearing regularly in all sorts of combinations and has taught at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt since 2006. Lin Ye is an ambassador for culture for his home in Nanjing, China, and plays a Francesco Ruggeri violin (1667).
