Deborah Einspieler
Dramaturge
Italian born Deborah Einspieler studied German, Romantic languages and literature in Frankfurt am Main and musicology in Florence. This dramaturge also runs Oper Frankfurt's Education Programme JETZT, which seeks to make opera more approachable for people from all walks of life. She's always coming up with new ideas and our Operas for Children are regularly seen in schools in the Rhein Main Region and have been performed at the Salzburg Festival, the Schloss Concerts in Weilburg, the Mozartfest in Würzburg, the Stadttheater in Gießen and the Rheingau Musik Festival. Deborah Einspieler has written books for children and been patroness of Frankfurt's Stadtbücherei's Young Media Jury since 2007. Im June 2013 her version of Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia for children won the audience prize at Hessen's Theatertage. During her time at Oper Frankfurt she has worked with directors including Andrea Schwalbach (Der Kaiser von Atlantis), Axel Weidauer (Curlew River & Golden Vanity), Christoph Quest (Weiße Rose / White Rose), Corinna Tetzel (world premiere of Lior Novak's An unserem Fluss / By our River), Hans Neuenfels (Oedipe), Caterina Panti Liberovici (Le cantatrici villane & La gazzetta) and Brigitte Fassbaender (A Midsummer Night’s Dream). This season she works on new productions of Don Pasquale (director: Caterina Panti LiberovicI) and Mozart's Ascanio in Alba (director: Nina Brazier).
